Grand County’s Homeless Data

Various community organizations that work with the homeless population in Grand County take monthly data to update the counts of individuals experiencing various scenarios of homelessness, in order to maintain a broad picture on the issue in our community.


Definitions

  • Occurs when an unaccompanied homeless adult (18 years or older) with a physical or mental disability has either been continuously homeless for one year or more OR has had at least four separate occasions of homelessness in the past three years, where the combined occasions total a length of time of at least 12 months.

  • Individuals and families who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence. Individuals and families who will imminently lose their primary nighttime residence. Unaccompanied youth and families with children and youth who are defined as homeless under other federal statutes who do not otherwise qualify as homeless under this definition. Individuals and families who are fleeing, or are attempting to flee, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, or other dangerous or life-threatening conditions that relate to violence against the individual or a family member.

  • Individuals referred to as “situationally” or “temporarily” homeless generally means that their state of being without a home is temporary and can be resolved as a specific situation in their life is addressed.

Where did this data come from?

A number of community organizations work with individuals experiencing homelessness every day and assist them in various ways. Five different organizations keep track of their client data and compile various data points monthly. Organizations include the Moab Valley Multicultural Center, Four Corners Behavior Health, Moab Solutions, Seekhaven, Moab Free Health Clinic, and USARA. *Data has been updated as of February 2023 and will continue to be updated as it is acquired.
