Project SOL (Safe Outdoor Living)
What is Project SOL?
In 2022 the Grand County Local Homeless Council created Project SOL (Safe Outdoor Living).
This project is based in harm-reduction framework and connects homeless individuals with new gear that will help them to live outdoors safely when housing and proper shelter are unavailable.
Participating organizations can issue individuals experiencing homelessness vouchers to the SOL shed to access necessary items to make outdoor living safe.
Eligibility Requirements
Any individual in Grand County who is currently experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness can access Project Sol.
How Do I Access Project Sol?
If you are currently experiencing homelessness and need gear to safely live outdoors, you can get a voucher to obtain gear from any of the following local non-profits:
Moab Valley Multicultural Center
Available Items
Items are subject to change based on availability, but generally the SOL Shed offers:
Tents (2 and 4 person)
Adult Sleeping bags
Sleeping pads
Single burner stoves
Stove fuel
Headlamps
Backpacking packs
